It’s time to pray!!
Prayer isn’t the last thing that you do after you try to fix everything yourself. It’s the first thing you do to receive vision from the Holy Spirit. God the Father planted a voice in our consciences so we can communicate with Him. CCC 1776 “Deep within his conscience man discovers a law which he has not laid upon himself but which he must obey. Its voice, ever calling him to love and to do what is good and to avoid evil, sounds in his heart at the right moment... For man has in his heart a law inscribed by God... His conscience is man’s most secret core and his sanctuary."
October 2023 requires every Christian from all seven streams in the Current of Grace to pray and fast! Eastern and Western Catholics, Evangelicals, Pentecostals, Charismatics, Messianic Jews, and Orthodox are invited to spend time each day in
small groups praying for the Western Catholic bishops who are meeting in Synod. The seven Churches of the book of Revelation had problems too. God inspired them, called them to holiness, and filled them with vision. We need our Father’s vision today so that the Glory of God, humanity, becomes fully alive in the Spirit.
Pope Francis has been meeting with the leaders of the Historical Churches for years. He has reached out to the Pentecostals, Charismatics, and Evangelicals too. In 2017, the 500th commemoration of the Reformation, eighty Christian traditions joined the Lutherans, Anglicans, United Methodists and Catholic in signing the Joint Declaration on Justification. Some say this ended the Reformation, but no one knows it, or even better believes it except those leaders who are immersed in the dialogues. The common priests, prophets and kings baptized into Christ need to discover this Truth too!!
On Aug. 4, 2023, at World Youth Day in Lisbon, Pentecostal, Charismatic, and Evangelical Christians joined with Catholic worship leader Matt Maher, actor Jonathan Rohme, Cardinal Cantalamessa, Pope Francis and others to further the cause of unity. The presented “The Change Challenge”! Everyone loves CHANGE, RIGHT??? The time has come to “be Transformed by the renewing of our minds!” We must “Put on the New Man!” We must Repent and Believe in the Gospel. Christians must end their animosity toward each other and rediscover that Jesus is the way first, then the truth, then the life.
Globally, much work toward unity has been happening behind the scenes. How can you work toward Christian unity within our locality? Think Globally, but ACT Locally. Spend October in prayer with a small group of friends. Use the prayer guide to help you.
